I work closely with each family to understand their unique needs and preferences, and to help them make informed decisions about their care. I respect their autonomy and choices, and I am there to amplify their wishes in their birth space. During pregnancy, I am available to answer questions, provide resources, and help my clients create a birth plan that aligns with their values and desires. I also offer emotional support, helping my clients process any fears or concerns they may have as they prepare for their baby's arrival. I understand that pregnancy can be a deeply emotional and intense experience, and I am always there to provide a listening ear, a reassuring word, or a shoulder to lean on when my clients need it most. With a deep understanding of the physical and emotional aspects of labor and birth, I am dedicated to helping my clients feel supported and cared for every step of the way. During labor, I use my training and experience to offer a range of comfort measures, including massage, breathing techniques, affirmations, and positioning support. I also believe that laughter is the best medicine, and I'm always happy to crack a joke or offer a lighthearted distraction when needed and appropriate.
I work with my clients to create a postpartum plan to make their transition into parenthood a little easier. This might include things like arranging for help with meals and household chores, finding a support group for new parents, or setting boundaries with visitors in those early weeks.
And of course, I'm always there to offer emotional support and a listening ear as my clients navigate the ups and downs of new parenthood. Whether it's through regular check-ins, referrals to trusted resources, or just a friendly text message, I'm committed to helping my clients feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their postpartum journey.
I believe Birth is an initiation into parenthood. It sets the tone for your recovery, confidence as a parent, and your relationship with your baby. I am honored to be invited to participate in such a momentous time in my clients’ lives. I believe that birth is a celebration of life and I am grateful to be invited to so many Birth “days”.
